The Tulsa Arts District is a diverse, culturally robust district in Downtown Tulsa. Grown from a historic oil-rich past with icons including The Tulsa Theater and Cain's Ballroom, the district has evolved over time to become a creative, community-driven engine of the Tulsa economy. With a variety of retail and service shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, galleries, museums, parks, private businesses, and historic music venues we welcome you to Arrive Early and Stay Late in the Tulsa Arts District!

The Tulsa Arts District is located in the northern section of downtown Tulsa. It is bordered by Denver on the west, Elgin on the east, the IDL (I-244) on the north and the railroad tracks on the south.

History

The Tulsa Arts District is one of the oldest sections of the city. It is rich with cultural icons such as the Cain’s Ballroom and the Ole Lady on Brady – now The Tulsa Theater. The buildings in the area that are still standing are primarily red brick and have been utilized as warehouses.

Currently

Over the past 20 years, the area has morphed into an eclectic collection of bars, restaurants, residences, retail, additional businesses, performance venues, museums and arts establishments. There has been some revitalization with a few buildings renovated into new office space while still remaining true to their historic past. A new baseball park—ONEOK Field is located in the Greenwood District on the east edge of the district.

Business Association

The Tulsa Arts District Business Association is a group of business owners that has organized to promote the common good of all the businesses in the district per our By-Laws.

The purpose of the association is to promote the common business interests within the District, including the improvement of business conditions through advertising, beautification, public relations and special events.
