Artists Interested in Showing During the First Friday Art Crawl
Thank you for your interest in the Tulsa Arts District First Friday Art Crawl. The various venues of the Tulsa Arts District are constantly looking for quality artists to show their work. If you’re interested in being a featured gallery artist for the Tulsa Arts District First Friday Art Crawl, there are two options available.
First option
The first option, which is more effective, is for you to directly contact the various venues which display art. These venues can be identified by looking at the monthly postings for the Art Crawl or simply inquiring. As you approach them, you should be ready to present copies of your work electronically. Some venues have art content policies or space restrictions, so be prepared to approach multiple venues to find the best fit. Please note that many galleries and museums have established schedules and submission guidelines. Visit a venue’s website to learn more about specific processes. Due to the popularity of Art Crawl, most book months in advance.
Second option
The second option is to complete the form below. The Tulsa Arts District Business Association will then forward your application to the venues that have expressed an interest in providing exhibit space. If they have an interest in arranging a further review of your work and possible show, they will contact you directly.
Sidewalk Sales
Sidewalk merchants that you may see are operating outside of the official Art Crawl event since they are not in a permitted area. We have been made aware that there is a recently revised City of Tulsa Ordinance that bans obstruction of sidewalks and other public rights-of-way. That is Ordinance 25317. This would appear to cover all sales on sidewalks other than those in permitted events.
Buskers/Street Performers
Buskers, also known as street performers, are covered under a separate City Ordinance. We recommend you (the performer) investigate your rules of operation and perform accordingly. Also, please respect the established businesses in the District.
