Queen Rose Art House, Studio 66, and Tulsa Artist Fellowship present a film screening and artist talk featuring multidisciplinary artist Peter Max Lawrence. Lawrence is the 2023 Queen Rose Art House artist in residence.

Audience members will screen Lawrence’s autobiographical film Queer in Kansas (2008) which touches on the struggles of a young closeted Midwestern artist in the 1990s. The film uses elements from traditional narrative, experimental cinema, and performance art documentation to create a unique and powerful portrayal of Lawrence’s life. Through his art, Lawrence explores the challenges and obstacles faced by those who dare to be different and embrace their true selves.

This thought-provoking event will provide a deeper understanding of the complexities of identity, art, and the human experience.
